Slam Dunk Festival 2017 Rumour Mill

It’s that time of year again when we start to predict who is going to be announced for next years slam dunk line up, without blowing our own trumpet we are pretty good at this so let’s try and get the majority right for the third year running, here we go.

1.BRAND NEW

With the only UK dates from the band this year being main support for Biffy Clyro, and it also being the 10 year anniversary of ‘The Devil and God Are Raging Inside Me’ which they announced was being played in full over in the states, we can’t see why this band wound’t make an awesome headline announcement for next year.

2.JIMMY EAT WORLD

We have a feeling a co-headline is on the cards and Jimmy Eat World is a band who would fit hand in hand with Brand New. They have recently released a new album with a UK tour happening this November so to see them head back over in the summer of next year feels about right.

3.CUTE IS WHAT WE AIM FOR

The Same Old Blood Rush with a New Touch album is 10 years old this year and we haven’t seen Cute Is What We Aim For cross the pond and play it in full, and as SD tradition tells us – bands play full albums here, so expect to see these boys on the lineup.

4.GOOD CHARLOTTE

Currently touring the US with The Story So Far, Set Your Goals, Four Year Strong, Hit The Lights and Big Jesus, it’s about time we saw Good Charlotte on the SD stage. Next year will be 15 years of Young & The Hopeless, will we see the album played in it’s entirety? We hope so!

5.ENTER SHIKARI

Next year will be the 10th anniversary of Take To The Skies album. In 2016 we saw Shikari Sound System headline the Uprawr stage, with new music released recently and a potential new album, surely Shikari will include Slam Dunk Festival as a tour date or one off 10 year anniversary special?

6.BOYS LIKE GIRLS

The boys have recently played 10 year anniversary shows over in the US, playing their self titled album in its entirety. They tick every box for a Slam Dunk band, we will be love drunk and we will be hungover if they play.

So, who do you think will take to the stage next year? How many do you think we have right?
